      What are Respite Stays?

Respite stays are temporary, short-term stays that are generally breaks for caregivers where their loved ones stay in a care facility for a designated period. These stays can range from a few days to several weeks, providing caregivers with the opportunity to take time off to rest, attend to personal matters, or simply recharge.

A Respite Stay also allows the senior care recipient to become more comfortable in a community-based environment and can be very helpful if a senior is considering a care facilty or senior community but hesitant about the decision.

      • Provides companionship for your loved one, family members may also establish relationships with one another.
      • Helps support programming by companions encouraging each other for engagement in activities.
      • Companion Living provides not only a sense of friendship, but security and reassurance.
At Sinceri Senior Living we believe it is our privilege and honor to care for the aging population in our communities. As our residents age in place, we understand that certain challenges may arise that can affect both physical and cognitive abilities. We strive to continually educate our teams and families on the aging process, including what it might be like when living with diminished abilities. Aging Experience is part of this process.

In addition to simulating what it might be like for our residents who are experiencing these challenges, our Aging Experience program aids in team building. Most importantly, this program creates a community and family connection, best serving our residents through an empathetic approach to care.

Our Aging Experience program engages our team and families in a meaningful way so that they maintain a sense of empathy and empowerment, making a positive change!

      General Info About Memory Care

      What Is Memory Care?

A Memory Care facility is very similar to the lifestyle of the Assisted Living facility combined with the medical care and higher level of assistance normally found in Skilled Nursing. Attentive and expert care is provided at Memory Care Facilities. For the safety of the residents, security is strict at a Memory Care Facility. Coming and going is regulated by various security measures. This may include locks and alarms on exterior doors, in-room emergency alerts, and a locator device worn by each resident.

Staff members are trained to work with people with memory issues. Programs are incorporated that keep residents on a regimented schedule. These programs are designed to help residents deal with the symptoms of Dementia, Alzheimer's, and Sundowners Syndrome.

      Memory Care Insurance Options

      Long-Term Care Insurance

Many long-term care insurance policies cover Memory care services. It's essential to review the policy's coverage details carefully to understand what types of care are included. Many policies explicitly cover memory care services as part of their comprehensive long-term care benefits. However, coverage specifics can vary between policies, so it's crucial to verify that memory care services are explicitly mentioned in the policy language. You can learn more about that here.

      Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefit

Individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease who require specialized memory care services may use Aid and Attendance benefits to help cover the costs of memory care facilities or specialized programs within assisted living communities. You can learn more about that here.
